Damian Bull

About Damian Bull

Damian is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in knee surgery, including sports injuries, ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, and knee replacement (partial and total).

Before pursuing a career in medicine, Mr Bull completed a degree in engineering and worked for a multinational engineering firm in Switzerland. His engineering background sparked a natural interest in orthopaedics, where precision, mechanics, and innovation intersect with patient care.

He studied medicine at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and completed his orthopaedic training in the Yorkshire and Humber region, where he also undertook a prestigious national leadership and management fellowship.

Fellowship Training

To further specialise in knee surgery, Mr Bull completed two high-level fellowships:

  • Harrogate District Hospital with Professor Nick London and Mr David Duffy
  • Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Bristol with Mr James Robinson and Mr James Murray

These fellowships provided advanced training in the full spectrum of modern knee surgery, including:

  • Soft tissue procedures
  • ACL and multi-ligament reconstruction
  • Meniscal repair
  • Early arthritis management
  • Patellofemoral joint disorders
  • Knee replacement surgery (partial and total)

Mr Bull was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Specialist Knee Surgeon at Harrogate District Hospital in 2021.
